
The Coalition Mediation Talks are convened weekly, and hosted in turns by the respective parties involved. The General Assembly again marked another decisive milestone during its 9th strategic session on Saturday, 20th June 2026, at the African Princess Hotel.
Attendance: 7 registered opposition political parties and 10 political movements participated in the session.
Host: United Movement for Change, led by Talib Ahmed Bensouda, convened and welcomed delegates to the conference.
The Coalition Mediation Talks bring together opposition parties and political movements to build consensus and coordinate strategy ahead of the 2026 general elections.
Structure Adopted: Delegates reached consensus to establish the coalition as a candidate-led model, setting the strategic direction for the alliance.
Documents Signed: Following the agreement, the Coalition’s Terms of Reference, the Confidentiality Code, and the Code of Conduct for the General Assembly were 3 among the working documents signed by participating members.
Objective: Discussions throughout the session focused on building a united common front to field a single unity candidate for the December 2026 general elections.
Next Host: The meeting adjourned with The Citizens’ Coalition for Change designated to host the next session at Baobab Hotel.
