In an interview with AG Radio, Mr. Edrissa Jallow expressed that his party is completely ready for the 2026 presidential elections. He offered a clear summary of PDOIS’s history, detailing its founding in 1986 through to 1994, the year Jammeh took power. In reply to questions from the AG Radio host and panelists, Mr. Jallow reaffirmed his unwavering support for PDOIS’s position and agenda regarding the political challenges facing our nation.
Mr. Jallow emphasizes that the name PDOIS is quite explicit; it focuses on the people and embodies the essence of people’s democracy. The decisions are made by the people, and democracy fundamentally revolves around them. The populace holds the power to make decisions, which is precisely why democracy was established—to guarantee that every individual has a voice. Democracy among the people cannot thrive unless individuals possess independence in their mindset and thought processes.
Socialism signifies that everything that belong to them, all resources found beneath the earth, in the sea, and in the air, is collectively owned by the people, and this is an important point to remember. Mr. Jallow outlines PDOIS’s agriculture program, detailing how to support individuals and the foundational aspects for establishing our industries. Mr. Jallow asserts that granting individuals the freedom to think independently will undoubtedly lead to innovation.
PDOIS emphasizes the importance of supporting individuals rather than imposing directives upon them, embodying an “Accompanying spirit.” The world keeps evolving, the only thing constant in life is change and Gambian will effect a change in 2026, says Mr. Jallow.
