GAMBIA: Without a Socio-Economic and Cultural Revolution, our Situation Will not Change.

Dr. Bai Biran Jagne told AG Radio that without embracing discipline, development will remain unattainable in our lifetime in The Gambia. The disregard for time is an aspect that Gambians need to address; our people often do not respect time commitments. Our government must exercise caution with our so-called development partners, as many aids come with conditions that primarily serve their interests rather than those of our country.

The failings of our educational system stem from inadequate planning. As long as teachers are permitted to offer additional classes for which students must compensate them, our education system will persist in its shortcomings. This is due to the fact that many teachers prioritize helping students pass their exams over providing a comprehensive education.

Unless Gambians elect a president who prioritizes the needs of the people over personal gain, Gambia will struggle to achieve development. This illustrates why a figure like Honourable Halifa Sallah may be the most suitable choice for Gambia at this moment. It is clear that Honourable Sallah will prioritize the best interests of The Gambia rather than seek personal gain. Dr. Bai Biran Jagne stated that many aspects of life in Gambia are not aligned properly, and without a thorough socio-economic and cultural revolution, our situation will stay unchanged.
