During an interview on AG Radio, Mr. Sulayman Ben Suwareh disclosed that a theft occurred recently at the Gambia State Intelligence Service (SIS) Headquarters.
A recent theft incident took place at the Headquarters of the State Intelligence Services (SIS) in Banjul. An unknown individual has reportedly stolen a laptop, a desktop computer, and its monitor containing “classified intel” from the SIS. Recently, certain staff members, specifically security officers, of the State Intelligence Services have undergone interrogation in connection with the reported theft case at the intelligence headquarters, as reported by LamToro News. Mr. Suwareh remarked.
Mr. Suwareh stated that security sources indicated the CCTV footage captured an individual at the SIS premises, wearing a hat (Sumbuya) and a mask, entering the office of Moses Jatta and Albert Sylva at the Dissatisfaction Unit (D3) during the night.
“The person removed the laptop that held Classified Intel, along with a desktop computer and its monitor. One of the sources mentioned. He was trying to retrieve some documents from the office as well.” Mr. Suwareh stated.
‘The source indicated that the incident occurred two weeks ago, yet the investigation into the theft case remains ongoing,” Mr. Suwareh added.
The state Intelligence Service (SIS) could not be reached to hear their own side of this developing story.
