In an interview with AG Radio yesterday, Honourable Musa Badjie the national assembly member representing Talinding Kujang constituency, highlights a significant challenge confronting his constituency: the absence of electricity and water supply. Hon. Badjie stated that he spent his entire constituency Development Fund (CDF) on improving the water supply, but unfortunately, it was to no avail.
The insufficient water supply has impacted not just Talinding Kujang, but also other regions such as the Buffer-Zone, Bantaba, and Latri-Kunda area. He has brought the matter to Parliament’s attention, yet they assert that the demand exceeds the supply.
The issue of water scarcity is prevalent not just in Talinding, but across many areas in The Gambia. Honourable Musa Badjie expresses concern over the inaccuracies presented by President Barrow in his recent State of the Nation Address (SONA).
The President announced that 90% of Gambia enjoys access to water. Mr. Badjie disputes this assertion, stating that the actual situation contradicts the President’s statements made during his SONA address to the nation.
