    GAMBIA: The Gambia and France Reaffirms Strong Bilateral Partnership

    𝐁𝐀𝐍𝐉𝐔𝐋 𝟐8𝐭𝐡 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓: The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, Mr. Jean-Noël Barrot, welcomed his Gambian counterpart, Mr. Sering Modou Njie, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad, at the Quai d’Orsay on Thursday, July 24, 2025.

    The initial meeting between the two ministers underscored the strength of Franco-Gambian relations, which have gained fresh momentum following The Gambia’s return to democracy in 2017. The ministers reaffirmed our common perspectives on global matters and the united dedication of France and The Gambia to peace, democracy, combating climate change, and safeguarding the oceans.

    The conversation centered on France’s tangible assistance to The Gambia since 2018, especially through initiatives in water, agriculture, biodiversity, and resource mobilization.
    The ministers expressed their appreciation for the vibrant activities of the Alliance Française of Banjul, the enhancement of France’s economic footprint in the country, and the advancement of our trade relations.

    Both Ministers expressed satisfaction with the results of their discussions and reiterated their commitment to furthering the friendship and collaboration between their two nations for the shared benefit of their peoples.
