After a hotly contested ballot at the Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) offices in Banjul on Friday, September 5, 2025, Njundu Fatty, the CEO of Salam Financial Services, was elected as the organization’s new president.

In an election that attracted intense interest from the corporate sector, Fatty, who takes over as leader, defeated well-known real estate entrepreneur Saul Frazer. With a three-year mandate to direct policy advocacy and enhance the private sector’s contribution to national development, his victory marks the beginning of a new era for one of the most significant business associations in the nation.

A new leadership team was chosen to lead the Chamber in addition to Fatty. Momodou Barrow will be in Head of Banking and Financial Services, and Fatou Jallow will be the Vice President. Sulayman Mboge was selected as the Director of Agriculture, Agribusiness, and Exports, Sanna Jassey as the Director of Construction, Real Estate, and Tourism, and David Jeng as the Director of Youth.

It is anticipated that the new administration will be instrumental in promoting economic expansion, fortifying trade links, and expanding investment prospects in The Gambia.
