On Friday, August 22, 2025, the Police arrested 19 individuals who were lawfully assembled at the PURA Headquarters on Kairaba Avenue. The organization known as GOMSABOPA organized a demonstration in response to purported deductions from mobile credit data.
Police officers were sent to the scene to disperse the protesters, during which the protesters were arrested and taken to Kairaba Police Station for further action.
The protesters were demonstrating in alignment with section 25 of the constitution of The Gambia.
The individuals who have been arrested are:
