The Coalition of Progressive Gambians (CoPG) informs the general public, media houses, Civil Society Organisations, political actors, and all citizens of the upcoming peaceful protest scheduled for 8 November 2025 at Westfield, Serekunda, Kanifing Municipal Council.
This demonstration demands the immediate restoration of the promulgation and ratification of the 2020 Draft Constitution. The CoPG calls for the support of President Adama Barrow, who tasked the Constitutional Review Commission (CRC) with a wide
(Hundred and twenty Million) Dalasis, National and international outreach consultations cost over D120, 0000,000.
The 2020 Draft Constitution represented the collective will of the Gambian people for a
democratic, just and accountable system of governance. Still, it was rejected by the Barrow administration’s supporters for political reasons. The government’s persistent failure to support this progressive institution is a direct betrayal of public trust and a significant setback to our democratic aspirations.
We are informing all stakeholders that if the government fails to act on this demand to move on from this constitutional impasse, CoPG will proceed with the protest as planned.
