Mbemba Drammeh’s wife, Sira Touray, was released on bail after being questioned about her husband’s passport, which he allegedly acquired on January 20, 2025.
Touray was released on bail with a D100,000 bond. According to a family relative, Kerr Fatou was questioned by officials on the passport that she allegedly obtained.
When they questioned her about a passport that Mbemba Drammeh had acquired on January 20, 2025, they claimed that her wife had received it. That was the basis for their enquiries. She has been summoned to report on Wednesday after being released on bail. Kerr Fatou was informed by one of the relatives,
Sira Touray told Kerr Fatou that a man who went by the name of Mr. Camara gave her the passport in Farato and requested her to give it to her husband. She insists that she was unaware of the paper beforehand.
At first, though, Cadet ASP Modou Musa Sissawo, a Police Public Relations Officer, disputed that Touray had been taken into custody.
Sissawo added, “I asked my people, but they said we are not responsible.”
According to reports, Touray was brought to the Immigration Office located on Hagan Street in Banjul. The Gambia Immigration Department has not yet responded to Kerr Fatou’s request for more information.
