Mr. Hagi Suwareh, the UDP Youth President, expressed his full support for Mbemba Drammeh’s assertions regarding the rigging of the 2021 presidential election during an interview with AG Radio on Friday evening. There were significant voter irregularities and fraud, which led to the election being challenged in the courts.
Hagi Suwareh noted that Mbemba Drammeh’s participation in the political discussion program attracted attention following his numerous allegations against the ruling National People’s Party (NPP). Mbemba claimed that the 2021 election was manipulated, but the specifics of how it was carried out are known only to seven individuals, including himself. “I will not name names now,” continued Mbemba, “but when the right time comes, I will reveal the names of those involved,” added Mbemba.
Hagi Suwareh stated that these were the words that led to the arrest of Mbemba. During the interview on AG Radio, Hagi received a text message informing him that Mbemba has been released on bail by the police. Hagi announced on this platform that Mbemba has been released on bail.
Hagi asserts that the state is currently using the police as a weapon to detain individuals who express dissenting opinions.
