    GAMBIA: GID to Increase Biometric Passport Fees from D3,060 to D5,100

    Effective May 1, 2025, the fee for biometric passports will increase significantly from D3,060 to D5,100, according to the Gambia Immigration Department (GID).

    The Ministry of Interior announced the revised pricing structure, which includes D100 for the passport application form and D5,000 for the passport booklet. The Cabinet accepted it. EcoBank Gambia Ltd. is the only way to make payments.

    According to a letter from the Ministry of Interior dated April 10, 2025, the Gambia Immigration Department (GID) would like to notify all Gambians that, as of May 1, 2025, the processing fees for biometric passports have increased from D3,060 to D5,100. The updated fees, which are payable at EcoBank Gambia Ltd., consist of D100 for the passport form and D5,000 for the passport booklet, in compliance with Cabinet approval and a subsequent Ministry communiqué, GID stated.

    The adjustment is in accordance with the contractual requirements specified in Addendum No. 1 to the 2013 Concession Agreement between the Government of The Gambia and Africard Gambia Ltd., the GID said in a statement issued on Wednesday. According to the wording of the agreement, periodic fee changes are permitted by the stated section, Article 5.7.1(d).
