    GAMBIA: Gambia and Mauritania Enhance Bilateral Relations and Address Migration Concerns

    Dr. Momodou Tangara, the Gambia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Gambians Abroad, recently travelled to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania as President Adama Barrow’s special envoy, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The purpose of the visit was to improve bilateral and multilateral ties between the two countries and to talk about the well-being of Gambians living in Mauritania.

    Both nations reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening diplomatic connections and protecting Gambians’ welfare overseas, according to an official statement. As the visit came to an end, all parties decided to keep lines of communication open and form a ministerial joint commission to supervise the execution of the decisions made.

    His Excellency Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of Mauritania, received a special message from Minister Tangara during his visit, reinforcing the two countries’ longstanding friendship and collaboration.

    The talks strengthened The Gambia and Mauritania’s long-standing friendship by highlighting the significance of continued cooperation in tackling important diplomatic and migration-related challenges.
