Bun Dawda presented an in-depth account of the dismissal of Karamo Janneh from his position and the subsequent appointment of Olimatou Danso as the new Director of The Gambia Maritime Administration in an interview with AG Radio last Friday.
Bun Dawda stated that Karamo Janneh had a reputation for significant corruption during his tenure as the Director of The Gambia Maritime Administration. He participated in numerous unethical activities. With four wives, Karamo enjoys a life of luxury, leading many to question the source of his wealth.
According to Bun Dawda, Olimatou Danso is the spouse of a friend of President Barrow. Despite her proximity to Barrow, she is recognized as a woman of dignity, well-educated and poised.
Bun Dawda asserted that President Barrow’s actions are not aimed at benefiting The Gambia, but rather serve his own interests. Barrow’s administration, as we are all aware, is marked by pervasive corruption.
In a related action affecting the diplomatic corps, President Barrow reassigned Ambassador Foday Malang from his role in Qatar to serve as Ambassador of The Gambia to the Kingdom of Morocco. Simultaneously, Ambassador Omar Jah, formerly stationed in Morocco, has been appointed as the ambassador of The Gambia to the State of Qatar.
Bun Dawda stated that Foday Malang is a childhood friend of President Barrow and would follow whatever Barrow dictates. Macky Sall, the former President of Senegal, currently lives in the Kingdom of Morocco. President Barrow intended to purchase a piece of property in Morocco. There is a reason for Foday Malang’s reassignment in Morocco.
“Omar Jah, who was previously assigned to Morocco, has now been appointed as the ambassador of The Gambia to the State of Qatar. I am not familiar with him, and I have never come across any allegations of corruption related to him.” Bun Dawda remarked.
Once again, Seedy Njie has made national news. He has accused the opposing parties, especially the UDP, of being extremely tribalistic. The contentious remarks made by Seedy Njie have been condemned by UDP as dangerous in addition to being untrue.
Bun Dawda asserted that Seedy Njie’s alarming comments reveal the mindset of this government. The administration of President Barrow is working to portray the UDP as a tribal party, aiming to discourage Gambians from supporting them in the upcoming 2026 elections.
“Seedy Njie, another dishonest member of the current administration, is a multimillionaire, according to Bun Dawda. Njie was thinking of buying a home in the UK a few years ago. The opposition needs to organize their affairs immediately, or else these falsehoods may hurt them in the upcoming elections.” Bun Dawda said.
Hamat Bah, as stated by Bun Dawda, has aspirations to become president. Gambians should not underestimate Hamat Bah. His appearance on QTV was motivated, in part, by a desire to improve his public image. He is yet another millionaire who is deeply corrupt.
According to Bun Dawda, President Adama Barrow has a number of overseas properties, including one in Abuja, Nigeria. Papa Njie’s friendship with President Barrow is well known, as is the rationale behind his appointment as the Gambian High Commissioner to Nigeria.
