Following my earlier publication regarding the urgent filings at the High Court, a correction is here regarding the personnel involved in the filing of the motion of the State’s attempt to halt the release of Ousainou and Amie Bojang.
Counsel S.L. Jobarteh has reached out to clarify that he did not personally file the Motion for the Stay of Execution. While Counsel Jobarteh was present at the High Court, he indicated he was there for separate matters.
New information confirms that the application for the stay of the release was filed by a female clerk from the Ministry of Justice, acting on behalf of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). However, information from the Judiciary office as per who filled indicated they both arrived together at the filing, leading to the misidentification of the filing counsel.
As per the record, the female clerk signed off on the motion of the confirmation of the filing. I hereby correct the record as per the request of Counsel Jobarteh and regret any error in the initial attribution of the filing.
