    GAMBIA: Chief Justice Orders Current Auditor General Joined in Former Auditor General Case

    The case the Former Auditor General proceeded today before the Chief Justice in chambers, sitting as a single Judge, with the court issuing orders aimed at streamlining the proceedings, including the joinder of the current Auditor General as a party.

    When the case was called Counsel Lamin J Darboe, with Jarra Jeng appeared for the plainffic while state was represented by Solicitor General H Thomasi, with Ida D Drammeh (Private Legal Counsel), J O Okete (Acting Director of Civil Litigation), A. A. Wakawz (Principal State Counsel), S. L. Jobarteh (Senior State Counsel), and M Ngum (Senior State Counsel). The state has added the service of a private lawyer Senior Lawyer Ida Drammeh to their legal team in the case.

    The Chief Justice ordered parties to consult over agreed issues and to all parties must file a summary of evidence or Affidavit statement in advance of the next sitting, with a deadline set for November 26th.

    In another move, the Supreme Court, acting suo motu (on its own motion), ordered that Cherno Amadou Sowe (the Present Auditor General) be joined to the case as the Third Defendant/Interested Party

    The Chief Justice ordered that all court processes be served on Amadou Sowe, and is at liberty to respond to the suit.

    The parties are ordered to notify the Supreme Court of the agreed issues and facts by the next scheduled hearing December 3rd, 2025.
