
President Barrow, on Friday officially inaugurated “The Diplomat” Twin Towers in Kanifing, marking a significant milestone in the country’s urban development efforts.
The project aligns with the government’s ‘YIRIWA’ National Development Plan (2023–2027), which places strong emphasis on infrastructure expansion, urban transformation, private sector-led growth, job creation, and economic diversification.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Barrow underscored his administration’s commitment to infrastructure investment as a catalyst for economic transformation. He noted that efforts have been made to create a more investor-friendly environment, while partnerships with Gambians to generate employment remain central to national development priorities.
The “The Diplomat” Twin Towers project is expected to stimulate private sector activity and create new employment opportunities. The President called on the business community to capitalise on the improving investment climate, stating that prospects for growth are increasingly strong.
The development was initiated by Swami International in partnership with Gambian entrepreneur Fatim Badjie, highlighting the growing role of local investors. Its inauguration during March, recognised globally as Women’s History Month, also underscores the contribution of women to the country’s economic progress.
