The suspected murder of a 20-year-old male from Talinding is being investigated by the Banjul police in conjunction with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). The Gambia Police Force has verified that the incident occurred as a result of a confrontation with a truck driver in Banjul on November 18, 2024.
The suspect voluntarily surrendered to the Banjul Terminal Police Station, according to the police. He alleged that he assaulted the victim after he allegedly caught him attempting to breach into his truck, which contained D17,000. The victim lost consciousness during the altercation and was subsequently declared deceased at the hospital.

The police reported that the deceased’s back was covered in bloodstains and a contusion during their initial observations.
The suspect has been charged with murder and is currently in detention. In the interim, the deceased’s body has been transported to the EFSTH Hospital, where it is anticipating a post-mortem examination to ascertain the precise cause of death.
