When Mr. Dodou Jah, the spokesperson for the APRC, was interviewed by AG Radio, he provided a detailed explanation of the differences between the APRC and its leadership. In spite of the fact that Mr. Jah acknowledges the fact that errors were committed during the 22 years that former President Jammeh was in power, he goes on to describe the progress that Jammeh made for the Gambia and her people.

In light of the fact that the agenda of the APRC for Gambia cannot be compared to that of any other party in The Gambia, Mr. Jah has stated that he is inspired by what the APRC stands for and the vision of the party. As far as Mr. Jah is concerned, he is not pledging his allegiance to the leader of the party but rather to the party itself. Although leadership is subject to change, the APRC remains.

Mr Jah expresses his displeasure with those individuals who consider Jammeh and the APRC to be one and the same. This is not accurate; the APRC has its own set of internal rules and regulations, and Jammeh’s actions and statements do not necessarily reflect the views and stances of the APRC.
