Almameh Gibba, flagbearer of the No To Alliance Movement, has called on opposition political parties to unite ahead of the December 5, 2026, presidential election, declaring his movement’s readiness to work with any party committed to bringing political change to The Gambia.

Gibba made the appeal while addressing supporters at the movement’s rally in the Buffer Zone, where former President Yahya Jammeh declared him the movement’s flagbearer.

He urged opposition parties to put aside their differences and form a coalition to challenge the current leadership, stressing that the movement’s doors remained open to all political parties.

“I, being the candidate of No To Alliance, am calling on all political parties that we are here with to form a coalition to make sure we change this country. Our door is open to every political party,” he said.

Gibba also appealed to Gambians at home and abroad to support the movement in the December 5 election.

Outlining his priorities, he said his first action, if elected, would be to remove foreign security forces from the country. He further pledged to ensure that The Gambia’s natural resources primarily benefit its citizens rather than foreign interests.

On agriculture, Gibba promised to strengthen the sector and revive the former government’s “grow what you eat and eat what you grow” policy, which was championed during Jammeh’s presidency.

He also pledged to improve the country’s healthcare system, promising affordable and accessible medical services for all Gambians, irrespective of their social background or political affiliation.

“We will work towards making sure free medical healthcare is at the doorstep of every Gambian, irrespective of your colour, political affiliation, culture and your status,” he said.

On religious matters, the No To Alliance flagbearer pledged that a government under his leadership would respect both Christianity and Islam, insisting that religious values would not be compromised.

Gibba concluded by urging Gambians to unite in the pursuit of national development, reiterating his movement’s willingness to collaborate with other opposition parties ahead of the December presidential election.
