Mr. Yahya Tambah, who served as the interim leader of the APRC No-to-Alliance until his dismissal by former President Yahya Jammeh, appeared as a guest on AG Radio on the evening of Wednesday, October 29th.
Mr. Tamba announced to AG Radio that he has founded his own political party, named the National Alliance for Reconciliation and Development (NARD). Tamba expressed that the aim of this political party is to focus on uniting Gambians under the banner of the National Alliance for Reconciliation and Development (NARD).
“I cannot forgive this coalition government for the deceit and empty promises they presented to the Gambian people.” Tambia stated. He criticized the corruption within President Adama Barrow’s government and lamented the soaring costs of living, as well as the absence of essential medical supplies in hospitals across the nation.
Inquired about his party’s plans to work with other political parties to form a coalition ahead of the 2026 elections. “My party is ready to work with all parties, except for the ruling National People’s Party (NPP),” Tamba responded.
Tamba mentioned that he had been approached in the past by individuals from various political parties, who sought to convince him to align with their group of supporters. In the past, he had received contact from both UDP and NUP.
Inquired whether he had ever received communication from NPP Indeed, I have received communication from Amadou Sanneh, the nephew of President Adama Barrow, who was inviting me to join the President’s party. I informed him that I would notify him whenever I choose to join a party. After that, he did not reach out to me again, and I did not call him. Tamba remarked.
Mr. Tamba, a close relative of former President Yahya Jammeh, maintains that Jammeh has the right to return to The Gambia. He rejected the commonly accepted notion that Jammeh has perpetrated serious gross crimes against humanity. He believes that unless Jammeh is tried and convicted in a competent court of law, all allegations against him are merely speculations.
