The Gambia Immigration Department has announced the promotion of 91 senior and superior officers, advancing personnel through various ranks, from Assistant Superintendent of Immigration to Commissioner of Immigration, according to officials.
The promotions, facilitated by the Personnel Management Office, became effective on January 2, 2025. The department characterized these changes as integral to its overarching leadership strategy and institutional reform agenda.
The department announced that the advancements aim to acknowledge dedication to duty and exemplary service, while also enhancing leadership capacity within the force, in accordance with its strategic plan.
In a statement delivered on behalf of the Director General of Immigration, Deputy Director General Hulay Jallow extended congratulations to the newly promoted officers. Jallow emphasized the importance of maintaining professional standards that align with their higher responsibilities.
