The following six members of GALA have been arrested by the PIU and detained at the Kairaba Police Station:

• Hakeem Touray
• Abdoulie T. Bah
• Kaddy Kuyateh
• Kexx Sanneh
• Omar Sanyang
Their only “offense” was peacefully preparing the Youth Monument for GALA’s one-year anniversary celebration after obtaining an official permit from KMC.
We strongly condemn this act of intimidation and the abuse of state power against peaceful citizens exercising their constitutional and democratic rights.
