Members of the diaspora worried about delays and access to consular services are putting increased pressure on the Gambian Embassy in Spain.
Gambians in other places are reporting similar experiences: long delays for passports, difficulty securing appointments and limited updates from the embassy. For many it is far more than inconvenient. Others say they have spent months attempting to obtain key documents, affecting travel plans, employment prospects and even their residency status.
What appeared to be isolated concerns now seems to be increasingly widespread. Discussions in neighborhood groups and on social media hint to a rising sense of discontent, with a few people describing the embassy as difficult to reach.
