Falalo M. Touray, the Seyfo of Kombo South, has asked Gambians to register and vote for President Adama Barrow in the 2026 presidential election. He stressed that the president can’t do it alone and that everyone needs to work together for the country to grow.

Touray spoke at a National People’s Party (NPP) rally in Sambuya and asked people to work together to help the country move forward.

“People need to know that we all need to work together to make our country as good as we all want it to be.” President Adama Barrow can’t do it by himself; he needs everyone to help and be involved. He said, “One of the most important ways to help is to register to vote.”

Touray also urged eligible voters who haven’t registered yet to do so, stressing how important it is for people to get involved in their communities to keep development going.

“People are still registering to vote.” If you haven’t registered yet, you should do so and vote for President Barrow. He said, “Without that help, it will be hard for him to keep working on his development agenda.”

He went on to say that voting for the president would help national projects that are already in progress continue and finish.

He said, “Anyone who wants to support both the president and the country should vote for him in the 2026 presidential election so he can finish his development projects.”

The Seyfo also talked about problems that came up during the 2021 election cycle because of how people voted. They said that the fact that the presidential and National Assembly elections didn’t match up had an impact on how the country was run.

“We made things hard during the last election by backing the president but not the candidates he chose for the National Assembly. He said, “That shouldn’t happen again because it makes governing harder.”
