On Monday, President Adama Barrow commenced a three-week nationwide “Meet the People Tour,” a constitutionally required initiative designed to connect with citizens and evaluate the effects of government policies throughout the nation.

The tour is scheduled from November 10 to December 3, 2025, featuring 21 constituency meetings and 31 site visits to development projects across various sectors, including road infrastructure, health, agriculture, education, energy, and the empowerment of youth and women.

According to the Gambian Constitution, the president must engage with citizens a minimum of twice annually to remain aware of their living conditions and the success of national programs.

This year’s tour will commence in the provinces, where President Barrow is anticipated to conduct community consultations and listen directly to residents regarding the challenges they face in their regions. Officials indicate that the trip will additionally provide a chance to review current projects and define the government’s priorities for the upcoming year.
