Tensions escalated in Jabang on Thursday afternoon, as a group of youths allegedly took to the streets in demonstration.
Demonstrators intensified their actions by setting tires ablaze and obstructing traffic, causing significant disruption to movement within the community and its surroundings.
Police units, such as the Police Intervention Unit (PIU) and the Anti-Crime Unit, were promptly dispatched to the location to disperse the crowd and bring back order.
“Reports suggest that young people in Jabang have taken to the streets, setting tires ablaze and obstructing traffic.” The police, along with the PIU and the Anti-Crime Unit, are actively engaged in efforts to restore order. Paradise TV Gambia has reported.
