GAMBIA: Concerns Regarding a Possible Cover-Up in the Ongoing Investigation of the Cybercrime by Foreign Nationals were Raised by a Gambian Involvement

    Share

Open Gambia Platform received information from an anonymous contact within the Police investigation, as reported by the Gambia Police Force Facebook page, “POLICE INVESTIGATE SUSPECTED CYBERCRIME ACTIVITIES INVOLVING FOREIGN NATIONALS Date: September 4, 2025.

We remind readers that “The Police reported investigating a major cybercrime case in Tujereng involving the seizure of multiple electronic devices, including 36 laptops, 174 mobile phones, 32 desktop computers, and networking equipment. A total of 60 suspects, who are foreign nationals from Asian countries, presumed to be Chinese and Vietnamese, have been taken into custody.

Our security contact is privy to the police investigation. Shares the Allegations that Mr Ebrima Jabbie, the agent of the First Lady in the Russian Petroleum scandal, is also accused of leading the Asian Cybercrime Syndicate operations in the Gambia.

Mr Jabbie allegedly served as an agent to the criminal syndicate. He rented properties from Mr Abou Jeng, the National Security Advisor and Hospitality entrepreneur Mr Peter Senghore. Mr Jabbie is said to serve as the country representative of the foreign criminal syndicate, using his influence within the corridors of power to give them protection and facilitate their operations.

Our Whistleblower mentioned that the NSA, Abou Jeng, is Peter Senghore’s long-time friend, and they hang out together. Peter demarcates his land to sell to Abou Jeng making the two neighbours.

It’s unclear if the property owners were aware of the alleged illegal activities in their properties.

It is alarming and worrying that in this day and age of serious crimes operating in the country, the Senior Security operatives don’t have a sense of security awareness to be mindful of the potential of criminals, especially international criminal syndicates, using their properties for illicit activities.

It’s alleged that Mr Jabbie has flown out to Dubai, avoiding the investigation by using the standard operational modes applied by recent crime suspects wanted by Law Enforcement by escaping into hiding in Dubai, where they hold up until they kill off the case as they did with the recent Drug cartel case involving the GAF Navy personnel which lead to the sacking of seven GFA officers and non of the cartel members that bolted to Dubai got questioned in the investigations.

Mr Ebrima Jabbie is seeking out some of his underworld friends operating in the Gambia to front for the bail of the Suspect in the process of undermining the investigation and killing off the case as they did with bailing the two foreign suspects that were arrested in the drug cartel and GAF case without the case even getting to the courts.

Our whistleblower security contact fears the case will be covered to protect Mr Jabbie, who is very close to the First Lady, Musa Drammeh, the Fisheries Minister, and a generous donor to President Barrow’s National People’s Party. The investigations also protect the senior security officers who rent their properties to the alleged criminals from embarrassment or cover up any complicity.

Almost all economic crime criminal underworld syndicate operations, including the drug cartels in the Gambia, are led by the NPP patrons, those who finance and mobilise support for the NPP party, controlled by the First Lady, the NPP National Treasury Minister Musa Drammeh, and the Interior Minister Abdoulie Sanyang. Because the Law enforcement agencies receive their orders from the Statehouse, they guarantee the freedom of these criminals.

Open Gambia Platform will follow up on investigations into the case to avert a cover-up as usual.
