    GAMBIA: Former NPP Supporter Mbemba Drammeh has Joined the UDP

    Mbemba Drammeh, previously a dedicated supporter of the National People’s Party (NPP), has officially transitioned to the United Democratic Party (UDP), effective Friday, January 31, 2025.

    Drammeh disclosed in a statement to other media outlet that his choice came after thorough discussions with important UDP members, including the National Youth President of the party.“I am writing to inform you of my decision to join the United Democratic Party, effective today, Friday, 31st January 2025.” Following extensive conversations with numerous UDP members, including the National Youth President. The decision is shaped by UDP’s forward-thinking policies and initiatives, which, if they come to power, have the potential to transform lives and enhance livelihoods,” he wrote.

    He further emphasised that UDP’s dedication to creating a better Gambia and its respect for human rights, as demonstrated in the party’s national development policies, act as a strong motivation for all citizens, both at home and in the diaspora, to offer their support.

    Mr. Drammeh conveyed his intention to support the party’s success and to participate in enhancing the welfare of The Gambia.
