Yesterday, three armed men entered the Access Bank Brusubi branch from behind. Within three minutes, they reached the banking hall and left with an undisclosed amount of money from a teller, according to information gathered from eyewitnesses and CCTV footage.
The police reported, citing eyewitness accounts, that the incident took place between 1:33 and 1:35 PM, with CCTV footage revealing all three men armed with pistols.One of the men brandished a short gun, causing the bank’s security officers to retreat and seek cover. A police statement indicated that no shots were fired.
Robbers were observed gathering an undisclosed sum of money from the teller’s counter before leaving the bank via the same entrance they used to enter.
Authorities indicated that one witness stated the assailants escaped in a Benz V-Boot vehicle that lacked a license plate.
In a different occurrence, authorities reported a violent robbery at a Western Union bureau located in Kunkujang Badjie Estate.’ According to the complainant, three unknown men, one of whom was armed with a pistol, entered the bureau and restrained an employee, Yankuba Darboe, before forcibly taking cash amounting to D77,275 from him and fleeing the scene. The police are in the process of confirming the specifics of both incidents and are diligently pursuing the suspects while seeking to recover the stolen funds,” the police statement concluded.
