After being arrested following an interview on Kerr Fatou’s weekly show, Politic Kaacha, Mbemba Drammeh, a former National People’s Party (NPP) supporter, was released on bail. Two Gambian sureties, a two hundred thousand dalasis bail bond, and the surrender of his passport are among the requirements the police established for his release.
Drammeh made grave accusations against his previous party during his interview on Politic Kaacha, indicating that he will offer more information in the upcoming months. Opposition parties strongly reacted to his comments and demanded proof to support his assertions. The NPP strongly denied the charges in a statement sent by Deputy Spokesperson Seedy Njie.
Formerly a well-known NPP member, Mbemba Drammeh was intimately associated with the administration of President Adama Barrow.
